The proposal at the Christmas Parade

COVINGTON, Ga. -- Christmas may be still three weeks away, but the Christmas season is already rolling along. You can spot a Christmas tree or a wreath anywhere you look.

And if you were in Covington last weekend, you could spot a beautiful moment between two people in love.

Andrew Terrell met his girlfriend, Kaila Sills, on the first day of 8th grade.

"We sat right beside each other," Andrew remembers. "I was so nervous. She was the first girl I ever called on the phone, first girl I ever kissed or held hands with."?

They went through high school together, then college together; they had some on times and some off times. But with each about to turn 21, Andrew knew it was time to propose -- with a surprise at last Saturday's Covington Christmas Parade.

"I just thought they were planning something good for Christmas," said Kaila. "It turned out to be even better."

Andrew and his family built a float and got in line to come down Covington Square.?And once Andrew got down on one knee, Kaila didn't need long to respond.

"You can find true love at any age," Kaila said several days after the surprise of her life. "It doesn't matter how old you are. You never know when it's gonna happen for you."
